Paradise Cove Retreat

Texture is a trademark of Clint Nicholas Design, displayed at its most luscious and layered in this Malibu home created with Scott Mitchell, Sandy Gallin, and Lenny Schneider. This dream team carefully knitted together multiple spaces in harmonious synthesis: a beach house, poolhouse, guest houses, and theater. The color palette was light, the surfaces rustic, the effect a glamorous, modern barn campus. Oak flooring and wire brushed oak walls and ceilings are offset with antiques foraged from flea markets by a discerning Nicholas. In some spaces he intentionally added no furniture, making them into moments where the eye is drawn to a singular work of art or to views through the house and beyond to Malibu’s glorious ocean and sunset.
