Impeccable good taste and a groovy feel meld in this vibrant office for LA real estate mogul Kurt Rappaport, above the Funke restaurant he also created and owns. Into a refurbished Art Deco office building, Clint Nicholas and architect Dan Brunn added luxe and gleaming materials – terrazzo flooring, Ceppo stone, walnut paneling, and chrome finishes – softened with shag and silk carpeting. This sets the stage for select artworks, quirky artifacts and artful retakes on classic furniture designs. A pivoting, white lacquered wall and a secret door in a dark bookcase to a sumptuously textured bedroom add to the allure that has been forged here by a client and designer who share a deep rapport.
